If a male transgendered is dressed as a woman, how would you know that he is not a she? Are you going to require people to wear signs? I'm a male and I may be more offended that a male dressed as a female is using the stall or urinal next to me. There's a reason why he is dressed as a woman. He feels he's a female. However, the simplest solution is to provide unisex single person toilets. Everyone needs to use the toilet sometime! Let's be humane!

This issue is not for the government to oversee, it is not a State issue but an issue for each individual SCHOOL that needs to understand its composition within its student body and to provide a healthy safe environment for the students to attend. Both the School and the Parents need to be able to work together for the oversight and needs of the student. It is the Administrations responsibility to provide for the needs of the students they are entrusted with and not push the issues to the side or background. Both the State and Federal Government need to work together, in their respective capacities, to provide adequate funding for the school systems (charter schools included) so they in turn can provide the best education in the safest environments possible for our children.

Simple issue to solve. Build individual restroom lockable stalls.

We are speaking of transgendered people! A male who is transgendered is a female and may be dressed as a female. I wouldn't want her in the men's restroom!

Unisex, single use or gender neutral restrooms, whatever you want to call them, serve many purposes. Our University has a sizable disable population, including veterans, whereas several have assistants. 9 out of 10 quadriplegic's are male but 9 out of 10 assistant's are female. The men don't want to go in the women's restrooms and the women don't want to go into the men's so the single use restrooms are very useful and these people can maintain their dignity. The single use restrooms are also used by the transgender students so they can maintain their dignity also. Our policy is to have one single use restroom per floor in all new buildings, and at least one on the 1st floor of the older buildings. This policy has served us well.

Both responses negate the most viable resolution available. Designate and existing or create, a single occupancy facility that is gender neutral. Thus anyone can use it without stigma. This does not resolve the issue of forced communal facilities such as locker rooms but it does address the issue of daily access/use. I recognize the argument to be made on behalf of the transgender individuals but what about the rights of the balance of students made uncomfortable by having to share the space with someone who, by all outward appearances, is of the opposite gender? Who protects their rights?

Do not believe in any male or female needs to go in the other restroom at any given Time.

It was irresponsible for Obama to pass an order without providing clear definition of how it was to be implemented and paid for. This was not a federal issue, it was a states issue.

This issue requires more THOUGHTFUL study.

I am glad that Trump rescinded that law. That would have allowed more freedom for men to enter the women's bathrooms for sexual purposes.

In light of the evolving evidence of low self-esteem and suicidal thoughts among many transgender students, adding to their anxiety by facilitating discrimination in the schools is dangerous to the health and well-being of our children.By citing states' rights and reneging on the federal government's responsibility to safeguard it's citizens (whomever they may be), Trump (and the self-serving, self-appointed moralist Jeff Sessions) has shown both a lack of empathy for all students and a profound laziness for discerning the Constitution. This is a cruel hypocrisy from a man who touts the ascendancy of the "forgotten" Americans.
